Storytellers’ Club is the creation of stand-up comic Sarah Bennetto, springing to life in August 2006 after an evening of comics and musicians telling stories ‘round the campfire’. Shortly after, a monthly club was born, now resident year-round at The Pleasance, London and somewhat of a cult phenomenon.

Storytellers’ Club debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2007 and has since become the alternative late-night show, offering an opportunity for audiences to catch their favourite performers off-piste.

Sarah and her ace band of raconteurs have performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Latitude Festival, London Word Festival, End of the Road Festival, Hunga Munga Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Melbourne Uni’s O-Week Festival, ‘Josie Fest’, the N2O Festival at the Battersea Arts Centre, Camp Bestival, inside a giant wooden ark and many other weird and wonderful places, collecting fans, friends and plaudits wherever they travel.

Previous performers include: Robin Ince, Rufus Hound, Tom Bell, Richard Herring, Jon Richardson, Isy Suttie, Luke Wright, Phil Kay, James Dowdeswell, Russell Howard, Wil Hodgson, Jason Manford, Jeremy Warmsley, Josie Long, Carey Marx, Tim Vine, Darren Hanlon, Terry Saunders, Phil Nichol, Doc Brown, Sarah Millican, Ewen Macintosh, Darren Hanlon & Carter USM’s Jim Bob.

A truly unique evening, with an ever-changing bill; Storytellers’ Club: you show – we’ll tell.

“Just go and see it’ - TimeOut

“A magical idea.” – The Metro, London

“You absolutely must go to Storytellers’ Club,”
 ***** – One4review, Edinburgh

“A charming show and a magical haven of intellectual comedy.” **** – Broadway Baby, Edinburgh

“A chance to see some very fine comics and musicians including Josie Long and Robin Ince try their hand at storytelling. Think Jackanory, but without the books or Bernard Cribbins. In fact, don’t think Jackanory at all – just go and see it.” – Time Out, London

“Unashamedly literate.” – The Independent, UK

“The general atmosphere is so warm and hospitable, none but the hardest-hearted of critics could help but fall prey to the gleeful intoxication and camaraderie championed by the show. There is liberal flirting, mic-swapping and impromptu dialogue, and it is a relief, as a reviewer, to see comedians perform in such non-threatening, snug conditions, free from the implicit danger of nail-biting dog-heckle-dog gigs.”
**** – Three Weeks, Edinburgh

“Shows like Storytellers’ Club are what make the Comedy Festival so special. To bring all this talent together into the one room and give them the freedom to explore something so unique is what the festival is all about.”
- Australian Comedy Review, Melbourne
